Parking regulations on the University help ensure the safety of all members of the community. Parking on campus is a privilege, not a right. Parking spots are not guaranteed, even if you have registered your vehicle with Public Safety. Drivers must be aware of road signs. Parking on grass, gravel, and sidewalks is prohibited. Failure to abide by traffic regulations may result in fines and/or vehicle towing. Failure to pay parking fines will result in an inability to register for classes, obtain your transcript, and/or graduate from Castleton.
Parking Permits are $79. Registration is done online via on the portal. Students must come to Public Safety after they register their vehicle to pick up their parking decal. All students must register their vehicle with Public Safety each year. Faculty/staff need only register their vehicle with Public Safety once. Registration is free. Go to Public Safety, located in the Hope House, to fill out a registration form. It takes only a few minutes. When you arrive on campus, make sure to stop at Public Safety to pick up your vehicle's permit. Your registration is not complete until you complete this step.
Visitors to campus need to register their vehicle with Public Safety. Visitors will be given a temporary permit to place on their dashboard and will be assigned a lot to park in while on campus.
